New state-of-the-art Visit Jordan website launched

The Jordan Tourism Board (JTB) has launched their new Visit Jordan website, which utilizes the latest travel website technologies to ensure a state-of-the-art user experience. The English site is now online, with an Arabic version following shortly. The site will be made available in a total of eight languages soon to cater to a wider international audience of Jordan-bound visitors.

USAID BEST supported the JTB to develop the site, which allows for motivation-based navigation, so users can explore what Jordan has to offer based on their interests and browse user-generated content to from travelers who have visited Jordan. It incorporates chatbot technology to facilitate instant answers to visitor inquiries and can guide users through the website and the trip planning process.

“In light of the recent increase in number of tourists due to the newly launched low-cost and charter flight carriers, demand is only rising, which makes it even more imperative to be efficient, innovative and adaptive in the way we shed light on the unique touristic experiences Jordan is capable of providing,” said JTB Managing Director Abed Al Razzaq Arabiyat.

As well as providing extensive information on the Jordan’s tourism sites and attractions, the new website presents users with to a wide range of community-based experiences and social enterprises around Jordan for those seeking experiential tourism experiences that directly benefit local communities. Interest in travel to Jordan is channeled through to local and international trade to maximize opportunities to convert interest into bookings.

The new website is an outcome of JTB’s three-year strategy, (2017 to 2019) what was developed through USAID BEST support to guide concentrated marketing efforts to enable Jordan to reach its target tourism markets directly.
