Amman Baptist School interns to start their familiarization trips

4 Apr 2018

The Amman Baptist School in collaboration with Crowne Plaza Hotel Amman has begun a pilot internship program to attract secondary school students to pursue careers in hospitality and tourism. The Internship Experience in the Hospitality Sector program is facilitated by USAID BEST to help draw awareness to the opportunities and benefits of working in the sector.

Students are a couple of months in to their internship and will soon begin familiarization trips to small and large-sized hotels as well as the Royal Academy for Cullinary Arts to more in-depth picture of what it is like to work in the hotel sector. Visiting the academy will build their interest in continuing their education in the hospitality and tourism sectors.

Eleventh grade intern Nader Rabadi said, “In the internship you get to meet new people in addition to it being positively different from the classroom in terms of education style. The internship has improved my communication skills, but I mainly enjoy it simply knowing it will open doors for me and my career opportunities in the future.”
