Building Economic Sustainability through Tourism Project

Drawing women entrepreneurs to invest in tourism

28 Aug 2017

USAID BEST continues efforts to boost investment in Jordan’s tourism sector and to increase access to finance for new and existing tourism businesses. USAID BEST works to develop capacity among tourism enterprises by offering technical support and financial advisory to bridge the gap between tourism businesses and financial institutions.  Awareness of the importance of tourism is steadily spreading amid the banking and tourism sector and investors are also being targeted.

In partnership with Jordan Forum for Business and Professional Women, BEST trained 21 women entrepreneurs, who are interested in investing in tourism or currently have a tourism business or start up, on tourism, tourism investment incentives and sources of financing, as well as financial analysis skills. The training was delivered in partnership with the Jordan Loan Guarantee Facility.
