Building Economic Sustainability through Tourism Project

Jordan Trail Association staff and guides up-skilled

4 Sep 2018

USAID BEST continues to support Jordan Trail Association (JTA) to become self-sufficient by up-skilling their staff and service providers.  In August 2018, 13 licensed tour guides attended a three-day workshop on Leave No Trace and Wilderness First Aid, followed by a workshop on GPX and mapping. Trainings such as these equip the tour guides with the skills needed to offer safe hiking experiences to visitors while being conscious of minimizing the environmental impact of hikes. The next step is for JTA and USAID BEST to offer the same training to local trail escorts.
